Prompt: As you grow older and face new experiences, what issue or topic do you think you'll have to stand up and debate most often, whether with friends, family, or society?

 As I grow older and face more new experiences and people the issue that I will likely have to debate the most often will be immigration. Due to my lineage and the people that I surround myself with this is a topic that I feel incredibly passionate about. I believe that by making people feel safe rather then demonizing the average person you create a better and more functioning society. With stance I know I will have to confront a lot of people who don't agree with me later on in life, and I do not wish to change or quiet my opinion just to appeal to certain people.

 Today In class we presented and listened to a story behind each persons name in out class. We learned about the meanings of each, and a short story behind their name or a nickname.

Today I learned all about how each persons name has a story or reason behind it. I can use this knowledge when I meet people and learn their names because some names may be more significant than originally perceived.

Personally I do not own any major social media, and am not active on any sites so for me all of my connections are in person connections. Whil yes technology affects the way I communicate by commodifying communication, it still feels less genuiene than in person connection, and therefore I seek out more inperson connection. I struggle to see how people feel such close connection when they are so far from someone.  Summary: Today in class we read about different rhetorical devices and practiced using them Reflection: I can use what I learned in class today to see and utilize rhetorical devices.   Prompt Response:  A word that I use the most is genuinely. This is an adverb that is used to express complete honesty. This word has become a part of my every day vocabulary because it is a good word when you want to exaggerate something, and make something important. However I have gotten so used to using it that I find it annoying, however I am unable to stop using it. I typically use it when I am trying to explain my feelings about something, and I use it to show when I truly do feel something. I am trying to use other words in place of genuinely. Summary:   Today in class we did a vocabulary assignment out of a textbook. Reflection:  I can use what I learned in class today to better my writing. Having more advanced writing will better my chances in life.

Write about a fear you have overcome.

  Prompt Response:  I have overcome my fear of the dark. When I was younger I was incredibly scared of the dark. I would run into my bed scared after turning off my lights, refuse to take out the trash at night, and not want to be alone in the dark. This fear would cause me constant anxiety whenever night would come. One day I decided that I had had enough so I decided that every time I had the urge to to run away from the dark into "safety" i would force myself to walk extra slow. This eventually conditioned me into staying calm in the dark, and now I am over my fear of the dark Summary: Today in class we went over notes about how to write with a better vocabulary. Reflection:  This can help my writing appear more professional. Having more professional writing can help improve my ap scores.
